NIH researchers link rare cancer to cell oxygen deficiency

Researchers at the National Institutes of Health have discovered that a rare cancer of the digestive tract is linked to a shutdown in an enzyme that helps supply oxygen to cells.
In some cases, the enzyme's failure to function resulted from errors in genes containing the information needed to make the enzyme. In others, the cause could not be identified, but was believed to be genetic.
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are tumors of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines. They occur in cells of the nervous system, which control the muscles of the digestive tract. Read More.....

How Drug Companies Bribe Doctors to Suck You Into Their Web

Drug companies spend $18.5 billion per year promoting their drugs to physicians.
With that kind of marketing budget, it’s easy to understand how drugs have become the first line of defense in many physicians’ offices, rather than the last resorts they should really be. But when you uncover the tactics used by drug representatives -- some of them revealed in the video above -- it goes way beyond “marketing.”
Psychological warfare would be a better way to describe it.

CDC Reports 1 in 6 Get Sick from Foodborne Illnesses Each Year

New estimates more precise
About 48 million people (1 in 6 Americans) get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die each year from foodborne diseases, according new estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The figures are the most accurate to date due to better data and methods used. The data are published Wednesday in two articles in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The papers provide the most accurate picture yet of what foodborne pathogens are causing the most illness, as well as estimating the proportion of foodborne illness without a known cause. The reports are the first comprehensive estimates since 1999 and are CDC's first to estimate illnesses caused solely by foods eaten in the United States. >> learn more

Glass of Milk

HTML clipboard

GLASS OF MILK

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water! . She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?"

You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness."

He said ... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As
Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once.

He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge, and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words ...

"Paid in full with one glass of milk"

(Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You,
God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands."

There's a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the water comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time.  If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about?

Now you have two choices.

1. You can send this page on and spread a positive message.

2. Or ignore it and pretend it never touched your heart.

The hardest thing to learn in life is which bridge to cross and which -- To burn .

A PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE!!!

A lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names in her cell phone directory after her handbag was stolen.

Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, purse, etc.., was stolen.

Twenty minutes later she called her husband, from a pay telephone telling him what had happened.
Her husband said, 'I have just received your text message asking about our pin number and I have replied a little while ago.'
When they rushed down to the bank, the staff told them all the money was already withdrawn.
The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text her husband listed in the directory and got hold of their pin number.
Within twenty minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.
Moral of the story:
Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people on your call list.
Avoid using names like Home, Honey,Hubby, Sweetheart, Mom, Dad, etc.,
And very importantly, when sensitive information is being asked for through
text messages, CONFIRM by calling back.

Also, when you are being text messaged by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure t call back to confirm whether that message came from them...

If you do not reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.
PLEASE PASS THIS ON.
I never thought about THAT!
As of right now, do you have 'home' list in your cell phone directory?

KAHANI TAWAIF KI ZUBANI (MUST SEE IT)

We should watch all these documentaries and should make awareness about our so called educated and modernized societies. Is this all we do in our societies?

Are these females don't have their any respect? If not why the people of well educated and renowned societies used them? Why they made them for such things?

Why we are blind? Why we do not see all these things? Why media do not promote such things and make only political issues and all these constitutional issues? Is there any voice to talk for these females? Is there any law to give them shelter?

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE BUT WE ARE HIDING.... PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES AND CONTRIBUTE FOR THE BETTER PAKISTAN... CONTRIBUTE TO MAKE BETTER NATION
THIS IS NOT OUR CULTURE OR TRADITION... BUT THIS IS ALL IS INDIGENCE
Please watch the videos and make comments.....

Don't forget that we have to go back to Allah Almighty? Why we are quit?
